Professor Nicholas Tyacke (University College, London): The Death of William III (1702) and the ‘Secularization Thesis’.

This paper will examine changing ideas of the sacred and the secular as evinced by the responses in print to the death of William III.
In association with the University of London research seminar on the Religious History of Britain, 1500-1800.
All are welcome, but those wishing to attend should book a free ticket at Eventbrite, or email archives@churchofengland.org not later than 17th November.
This event takes place in the Bancroft Room, Lambeth Palace Library (new building, entrance on Lambeth Palace Road). Please arrive 10 minutes before the advertised start time to allow time to take the lift to the top.
