Translators are often the unsung heroes of history and literature. Without them, the spread of ideas and the interactions between different countries and cultures would have been much diminished. Throughout church history translation has played a central role as an ever-increasing number of language groups have encountered the Bible, liturgical, and theological works in the vernacular. These acquisitions by the Friends have added to the breadth of Lambeth’s collections and illustrated the connections between different churches and thinkers.
